Overview

Staying in character: creating a cinematic livestream intro for a Facebook streaming giant

Enter able, a purpose-driven brand powered by a utility platform.

Point Zero was hired to completely overhaul the graphics for David, A.K.A. StoneMountain64, one part of this undertaking was to create a whole new stream intro based around David’s long running character bit, the “Commanding Officer”. I created a character model based on David’s likeness and a mountain landscape environment based on the Pacific Northwest.

Creating the Commanding Officer

This project was my first deep dive into creating realistic characters. For the head I used Keentools Facebuilder to create a a model from photographs. This gave me an approximate shape of the head and facial features. I then used Unreal Engine's Mesh to Metahuman Plugin to create a realistic head which I attached to a soldier model and animated in Blender.

Designing a Vast Landscape

To create a Landscape, I used Quadspinner Gaea to design the mountian lake environment. Then with the exported maps, I created a landscape shader and scattered trees across the mesh using Blender.
